The North Jersey Siberian Husky Club gave an educational program to the guests at Crystal Springs Resort Grand Cascades Hotel in Hamburg, NJ on February 22. The 4 hour event included a presentation by Kathy Murarik on dog sledding. Guests learned about the sledding equipment including harnesses, booties, sled bag, gang line and dog sled. She explained what qualities make a good sled dog and why the Siberian Husky is born and bred to run. Eight club members brought a total of 10 dogs.
Guests had a chance to interact with all of the dogs throughout the day, have their picture taken with the dogs and the dog sled and learn about the Siberian Husky and our club. We also featured a DVD of the 2023 Iditarod that played in a quiet corner of the large windowed room that overlooked the golf course. The event was held during President's Day week which attracted many families with children. The advertised presentation drew a huge crowd. It was a well-attended program that was enjoyed by all.
